Hello everyone,
Well I am definitely slowing down,I only managed one card today,I had been managing 4 a day. I need to postpone Christmas for another week if that's ok with everyone ha ha.

Well I hope you like this one,I used real cinnamon sticks on it to give it the smell of Christmas to. I make no apologies for it being another House Mouse, you know by now how Ga Ga I am about them.

Tuesday 17 December 2013

Good evening everyone,
I managed to get another three cards made today. After sitting for a couple of hours not feeling very inspired because my husband wanted me to make smaller cards so they would be cheaper to post. When he discovered I hadn't been able to start on them he said it was ok to make my usual 8x8 cards and I was soon making.
I hope you like them,I am sorry I haven't the time to explain each make but if you have any questions I will be happy to reply to any if you leave them in the comments box

Monday 16 December 2013

Good morning everyone,I hope you are all ready for Christmas?
As you might be able to see I am not. I took so long over getting my last project done (my grandson's advent calender) that it has put me behind by a few weeks and I am now playing catch up. Last post for 2nd class is Wednesday so I have been frantically making cards to send to all the special people in my life. But it has meant that they have had to be what I call quick cards. It very often takes me two days to make a card but I didn't have that luxury so I have been managing 4-5 a day. It has meant I haven't been able to decoupage them as I usually do but maybe with the amount of cards to be made for Christmas the people who receive them will forgive me. So with lots of coffee to keep me going and a energy drink or two these are the cards I have made in the last two days. I still have more to make though so watch this space, "well I still have two more days" . I hope you like them,it's probably to late to say I hope you get some inspiration from them but maybe for next year, unless you are as behind as me?

Sunday 1 December 2013

Good morning everyone
I thought I would share my latest project with you
I wanted to make a advent calender for my beautiful grandson to use year after year and maybe even pass down to his 1st born
It has taken me over a month to do but I think it was worth it.

I started with a blank papier mache advent calender

Then I gave it two coats of paint, I painted the main body in red and then alternated the drawer colours in red, green and purple

Then I sorted through all my backing papers to find one's I liked and cut them to size and pasted them on using decopatch glue,(which is also a varnish) then pasted over the top and waited for them to dry. I also varnished the main body of the calender.

Then I set about designing a picture to cover the back with and one to go in the center front. I designed it using the papermania enchanted Christmas cd which has some truly beautiful and magical design elements on it. I added some glitter to elements of the pictures and  then I pasted them on. As the back was larger than A4 I cut a piece of decorative paper to go by the side of it and used the same paper to decorated the sides of the calender. And again I finished it off with decopatch to seal it all.

Then I added a wooden stand to it to give it stability and covered it with paper and sealed it.
I then set about guilding it to give it a aged look and put coloured number peeloffs on the drawer fronts.

Finally I added a Christmas ornament inside the front recess which I stuck down with silicone glue

I hope you like the finished calender :)

Hello everyone!
This is my design team card for the Texture challenge over at
"http://creativecraftcottage.blogspot.co.nz" which starts on the 15th November
I used two different embossing folders for the background to give it texture and layered them on to textured gold card. Then I printed out some baubles from the " Papermania Christmas Past" CD and added some guilding flakes to them to give them some sparkle and texture. Then I added some gold cord which I bought at the Range store and hung the baubles from it using some gold thread. I then added a brown spotty ribbon and placed a button in the centre of the bow with a small guilded circle in the centre to tie it all together. Oh and then added the seasons greetings cut from the tattered lace Christmas sentiments dies and also coloured them brown to match the colour theme. I am very pleased with how it turned out and hope you like it and it gives you some inspiration, happy crafting!!

Hello everyone, well I am really starting to get used to doing some quick cards now and I have made another today. I know you may think that one card in a day isn't very quick, but it is for me and in my defense I didn't start until 3pm after I had got all my wifely duties done lol, then had to stop to cook dinner,"don't want hubby wasting away". So I would say all in all it only took me about 4 hours which is very quick for me. I am pleased with the finished card and hope you like it to and it will offer some inspiration, happy crafting everyone :) I forgot to say that the image I used is from the papermania enchanted Christmas and Fairies CD

I am busy making some cards to build up my stock so that I can start offering my cards for sale,so watch this space

Wednesday 23 October 2013

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well and enjoying you're week.
A month or so ago I went to a craft fair and spent all my pennies on some new fab things. However I ran out of money as you do, because even if I had taken a thousand pounds with me it still wouldn't have been enough lol. Anyway one regret I had was that I couldn't afford to buy the festive fashions stamps by Katie Sue designs. So as I was lucky enough to have been bought the Fabulous Fashions cd by a friend, I thought if I printed out from the digi designs I was sure I could colour them to look festive. So I printed out collection 3 dress and decided it would look good in a frosty look. I have been doing a lot of looking at my crafty stash lately and seeing what I can do with it other than what it is meant for and it feels like I have doubled my stash by thinking out of the box.
I hope you like the finished card, I am happy with the result and I do like making cards that are not such traditional Christmas, although I do like traditional to.

Friday 18 October 2013

Hello everyone!
I expect it happens to everyone at some time, that moment when you are led down in bed just about to slip into slumberland and there it is,that one thought that pops into you're mind and stops you from falling asleep Grrrrr.
Well that happened to me last night as I realised that I needed to make a card for a friends birthday on Saturday, not too late then lol.
So up I got bright, and much to early, to make a start. It's taken me all day with only a break for breakfast and no lunch but I have finished it. I know it's a long time to take to make a card but I am a bit of a perfectionist lol.
My friend, for his sins is a Bristol City fan and has been for many many years so I wanted to make him a football card. I saw a video recently for a shutter card and have never made one before so I thought I would give it a go. The measurements that were given on the video were a little small for me as I like bigger cards,so it took a while but I worked out new measurements and this is the result.
I used a piece of card 15" x 7" and scored at 2.5",5" then the same the other end and then cut from the 1st to the last scoreline 1.5" from the top and the same from the bottom, then  I folded the score line in mountain and valley folds. Then I folded the centre piece opposite ways to the top and bottom and decorated it.
I hope you like it and maybe be inspired to give something new a try. Happy crafting!

Sunday 13 October 2013

Hello everyone, I have been playing with some new die's and making my 1st DT card for the ANYTHING GOES challenge on the Creative Craft Cottage blog. I decided to make a Christmas card as the time of year is upon us to get them made. I usually am very late with my Christmas cards, sometimes even still making them up until Christmas Eve so I am trying to be more organised this year,we will see how that one turns out ha ha.
I used the Spellbinders Venetian Motifs and Venetian Accents die's as i love the vintage look. I layered two of the main Venetian Motifs dies together to form a backing for my sentiment and the border die from the accents set across the top and bottom. The background I printed from the Papermania Christmas Past cd and although it took over a hour to do,I used a quickie glue pen to glitter all of the snowflakes on the background paper, which I think was worth the effort. I added a couple of Christmas tree's and cut out some sentiments from the tattered lace Christmas sentiment die's in silver mirricard. The bow was from my many many boxes of ribbons I have collected over many years and I placed a decorative button in a coordinating colour in the centre of the bow.
I enjoyed making it and hope you enjoy seeing it, happy crafting everyone xx

Friday 11 October 2013

Well I am rested up now from having a friend staying here for the week and it's time to relax and get down to doing some crafting.
While my friend was here we swapped a few of our dies so I am going to have a play and see what I can come up with. Don't hold your breath though as it usually takes me a couple of days to produce a card from new stock, well I have to have a play 1st and find out what I can do with them as I like to use them in different ways other than how they look. So pop back in a day or two and see what I managed to come up with. Have a good day everyone and happy crafting xx

Feeling my way!

Well I am sat here trying to work out how todo this blogging thing so please be patient while I learn what I am doing lol.
I thought I should start the ball rolling by adding some of the cards I have been making recently. You will find I have a passion for House Mouse and I do get a little obsessed with bows on my cards.
It has taken me 22 years of card making but I have finally found a style that I am happy with.
I hope you enjoy looking at my creations
