Good morning folks, I hope all this snow isn't going to give you any trouble.
At last, two days late but I finally got my Husbands birthday present finished. This is a box which I would have gotten finished in time but had other things to make as well. So I have been putting in 8 and 9 hour days to get finished.
Each element on the top of this has 8 layers except the background and sides which were cut from a background die but I had to carfully position it to cut a bigger background. This one was easier to match up though than some I have used. It was all cut from black card and then gilded. Now it's not just one colour gilding wax but a mixture of five colours and a green metal polish to give a slightly caroded look. The ballon on top of the box was done using Sheena Douglas time traveler collection. I also put parchment paper behind the top layer and coloured it with distress ink 1st just to age it and then embossed it through to make it look more 3D. The watch face was done on white card and then 3 layers of clear embossing powder and then when dry I moved it about so that it cracked and looked more antique. The corner of the top were done using Creative Expressions industrial die set and then I added real cogs on the top. The flourishes on the sides were also Creative Expression industrial set.I also put some brown felt on the bottom of the box to give a nice soft bottom the will not scratch any surface it is put on. For the inside I used a card from Crafters Companions Downton Abbey collection of A3 centeral pearl cardstock. I then added the tree from a die I am not sure who's it is but bought from Aliexpress, it's a rather beautiful die and give a negative that is very usable to. My husband loved his box and said it was worth waiting for, PHEW .
I hope this inspires you and all though it is a long project I think it was worth it to see how much hubby liked it.

Hello everyone, I am sorry that I haven't published anything over the last year but I took some time out due to illness and am now back and will be posting again.
I have recently been making some cards to give to raise money for a little boy who is unable to move any of his body eccept his head and needs a special wheel chair that he will be able to control by pressing a button with his head. This will give him some independance that he has never had and is a cause that I feel very passionately about. So for the last few weeks I have been making cards and they will be sold at a garden party his Dads will be having where they will have lots of items to sell. here are some of my makes which I have been putting up on facebook and have been getting a very good response to. Some of they questions I have had are if I could do some videos on how I made them so I am planning on doing this and may start a youtube channel to. I have been busy preparing some other work for a design team application in the last couple of weeks so I had to put it off, but now I will have the time to get it sorted out and will let you know when I have done this. For now here are some photo's of what I have been making to wet your appetite

Here is another make from the new Downton Abbey Filigree dies by Crafter's Companion UK
I got to play with four dies from this collection and I loved every one of them.
This one was made using the Delicate bow die, and this was another 1st for me. I have never made a handbag card before and searched for a template for one the size I wanted to make and couldn't find what I wanted. So I used a bit of common sense I devised a way to get what I wanted. I figured it needed to be able to stand up so I started by thinking it needed the base to have a a set of mountain and valley folds to give it a W shape. Then I decided I wanted it to be 7" wide and 5 3/4" high and then I needed a 2 1/2" flap on it. I used a die to put a decorative edgeers from the Downton paper pad and cut them to fit to decorate it and then used the delicate bow die to embellish it by cutting three of the same die, on being a purple miricard so that I could sandwich it between the layers to give it a bit of sparkle through the cut out pieces. I then found a piece of wired ribbon to use as the handle and cut slits in the spine of the flap and threaded it through and secured on the back. Then I used some sticky backed Velcro to secure the flap so it would stay down. I hope you like it, I was pleased with the finished card.

Hi everyone, here is my latest make using the new dies from the Downton Abbey filigree die collection. This is a wine box I made with the new classical edge die. I have never made one before and although I know I have a template on the cd from crafter's companions big score cd, I couldn't find it amongst all the mess in my craftroom so I had to just make it up as I went along. It was surprisingly easy though, I made two boxes 3.5" square x 6.5" high and decorated them both with the papers from the Downton Abbey paper pad then from a piece of gold card 13. 6/8 " x 3" I scored at 3. 2/8", 6. 4/8", 9. 6/8" to make a slightly smaller square, then glued it to the inside top edge leaving it proud by 1.5" to give a lip for the top of the box to lay over.
I hope you will agree that it make a gift of a bottle of wine just that little bit more special and wasn't hard to make

Hello my friends, how are you all? well I hope and busy crafting away while we see the winter through.
I am so sorry I haven't blogged for a long while but I have not been to well since boxing day. I did do a post just before Christmas and scheduled it to go live on the 8th of December but for some reason it did not post and I have only just realised when coming on to do this post. So my apologies for that.
Today I have some samples I made for http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/ for the brand new Verity Rose collection which launched on Saturday on Create and Craft tv.
This new collection includes a fabulous CD, some beautiful paper pads in 6x6" and A4, Some beautiful stamps for each character with some dies to match, some beautiful stand alone dies, die cut embellishments and some beautiful lace and metal charms and even includes a colouring book for those of you who don't do stamping or have a die cutting machine. So there really is something for everyone. There are 6 characters who all have their own likes and at the back of the paper pad each characters personalities and likes have been explained which I found does really help when designing a card for each. I only worked with two of the characters, Cupcake and Flutterby and so enjoyed myself.
Here are my samples and because there are eight cards I have not explained how I made each one but if you have any questions about any of them then please just send me a message and I will be happy to reply.
