Good morning folks, I hope all this snow isn't going to give you any trouble.
At last, two days late but I finally got my Husbands birthday present finished. This is a box which I would have gotten finished in time but had other things to make as well. So I have been putting in 8 and 9 hour days to get finished.
Each element on the top of this has 8 layers except the background and sides which were cut from a background die but I had to carfully position it to cut a bigger background. This one was easier to match up though than some I have used. It was all cut from black card and then gilded. Now it's not just one colour gilding wax but a mixture of five colours and a green metal polish to give a slightly caroded look. The ballon on top of the box was done using Sheena Douglas time traveler collection. I also put parchment paper behind the top layer and coloured it with distress ink 1st just to age it and then embossed it through to make it look more 3D. The watch face was done on white card and then 3 layers of clear embossing powder and then when dry I moved it about so that it cracked and looked more antique. The corner of the top were done using Creative Expressions industrial die set and then I added real cogs on the top. The flourishes on the sides were also Creative Expression industrial set.I also put some brown felt on the bottom of the box to give a nice soft bottom the will not scratch any surface it is put on. For the inside I used a card from Crafters Companions Downton Abbey collection of A3 centeral pearl cardstock. I then added the tree from a die I am not sure who's it is but bought from Aliexpress, it's a rather beautiful die and give a negative that is very usable to. My husband loved his box and said it was worth waiting for, PHEW .
I hope this inspires you and all though it is a long project I think it was worth it to see how much hubby liked it.

Hello everyone, I am sorry that I haven't published anything over the last year but I took some time out due to illness and am now back and will be posting again.
I have recently been making some cards to give to raise money for a little boy who is unable to move any of his body eccept his head and needs a special wheel chair that he will be able to control by pressing a button with his head. This will give him some independance that he has never had and is a cause that I feel very passionately about. So for the last few weeks I have been making cards and they will be sold at a garden party his Dads will be having where they will have lots of items to sell.  here are some of my makes which I have been putting up on facebook and have been getting a very good response to. Some of they questions I have had are if I could do some videos on how I made them so I am planning on doing this and may start a youtube channel to. I have been busy preparing some other work for a design team application in the last couple of weeks so I had to put it off, but now I will have the time to get it sorted out and will let you know when I have done this. For now here are some photo's of what I have been making to wet your appetite

Here is another make from the new Downton Abbey Filigree dies by Crafter's Companion UK
I got to play with four dies from this collection and I loved every one of them.
This one was made using the Delicate bow die, and this was another 1st for me. I have never made a handbag card before and searched for a template for one the size I wanted to make and couldn't find what I wanted. So I used a bit of common sense I devised a way to get what I wanted. I figured it needed to be able to stand up so I started by thinking it needed the base to have a a set of mountain and valley folds to give it a W shape. Then I decided I wanted it to be 7" wide and 5 3/4" high and then I needed a 2 1/2" flap on it. I used a die to put a decorative edgeers from the Downton paper pad and cut them to fit to decorate it and then used the delicate bow die to embellish it by cutting three of the same die, on being a purple miricard so that I could sandwich it between the layers to give it a bit of sparkle through the cut out pieces. I then found a piece of wired ribbon to use as the handle and cut slits in the spine of the flap and threaded it through and secured on the back. Then I used some sticky backed Velcro to secure the flap so it would stay down. I hope you like it, I was pleased with the finished card.

Hi everyone, here is my latest make using the new dies from the Downton Abbey filigree die collection. This is a wine box I made with the new classical edge die. I have never made one before and although I know I have a template on the cd from crafter's companions big score cd, I couldn't find it amongst all the mess in my craftroom so I had to just make it up as I went along. It was surprisingly easy though, I made two boxes 3.5" square x 6.5" high and decorated them both with the papers from the Downton Abbey paper pad then from a piece of gold card 13. 6/8 " x 3" I scored at 3. 2/8",  6. 4/8", 9. 6/8" to make a slightly smaller square, then glued it to the inside top edge leaving it proud by 1.5" to give a lip for the top of the box to lay over.
I hope you will agree that it make a gift of a bottle of wine just that little bit more special and wasn't hard to make

Hello my friends, how are you all? well I hope and busy crafting away while we see the winter through.
I am so sorry I haven't blogged for a long while but I have not been to well since boxing day. I did do a post just before Christmas and scheduled it to go live on the 8th of December but for some reason it did not post and I have only just realised when coming on to do this post. So my apologies for that.

Today I have some samples I made for   http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/ for the brand new Verity Rose collection which launched on Saturday on Create and Craft tv.
This new collection includes a fabulous CD, some beautiful paper pads in 6x6" and A4, Some beautiful stamps for each character with some dies to match, some beautiful stand alone dies, die cut embellishments and some beautiful lace and metal charms and even includes a colouring book for those of you who don't do stamping or have a die cutting machine. So there really is something for everyone. There are 6 characters who all have their own likes and at the back of the paper pad each characters personalities and likes have been explained which I found does really help when designing a card for each. I only worked with two of the characters, Cupcake and Flutterby and so enjoyed myself.
Here are my samples and because there are eight cards I have not explained how I made each one but if you have any questions about any of them then please just send me a message and I will be happy to reply.

Hello my friends,I hope you are all managing to survive these heavy winds and rain. It is at least a good reason to stay in and do some crafting.
I just thought I would share with you a Advent calendar I have done for my 1 year old granddaughter, Her mum and I decided on a icy blue one and decided a Olaf would be a good character to put on the top.
I hope that it will become a family treasure to be passed down through the family generations along with the one I made for my grandson two years ago.

Good morning my crafty friends,I hope you are all well and managing to gets lots of crafting done. I imagine you have all started on your Christmas makes by now. Where as I have been to busy making design team sample for Crafter's Companion's Die'sire team and this time I have been in the lucky position to have been working with two collections from the Downton Abbey range. The first is the Luxury card kit, which is exclusive to Create and Craft tv for the Crafter's companion 10th Birthday week.
This kit is luxury with a capital L and you can make at least 50 cards with it and it includes everything you need. So even a brand new crafter who hasn't got any other crafting materials can get started straight from the box, which makes it a perfect gift for lovers of the series and for friends who have expressed a interest in trying card making for themselves. It includes all the embellishments and even a tape pen to stick it all down with. I have to say it is the first complete kit I have ever seen.
Here are the samples I made from this kit and I must say they only took a few minutes each to make.

Good morning my Crafty friends
I am sharing my design team makes for http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/ with you this morning which are from the Kimono range. When I received my parcel with this range in it my mind was all a whirl with idea's. This is so beautiful, the luxury paper pad, "with emphasis on LUXURY" is the most beautiful papers and some have been glittered with encapsulated glitter, so no shedding, YAY!
As you will no doubt guess my favourite die was the peacock, how stunning he is! I could have made card after card,I had so many idea's but for now I was asked for two designs and these are what I came up with. And what can I say about the stunning embossing folders...... well although I only used one on these samples, they are all superb and a must have,if I hadn't received these to work with I would have had to add them to my collection.

This first card idea was the first to pop into my head as soon as I saw this collection,it is what I think is typically Japanese, and the stick pins I used for the posts worked really well I think.

The second card is something else that to me says Japanese and that is fans. I love love love the backing paper from the pad and the colours are so me.

I hope you like them both and while you are here why not pop over and take a look at the collection on  www.crafterscompanion.co.uk and take a look at all the design teams makes while you are there.

Happy crafting xx

Hi everyone, sorry it has been a while but it was my granddaughters 1st birthday this week and I had lots to make and celebrations to be had. We took her and my grandson to the zoo on her birthday and they had a great time.
Anyway I thought I would share with you a card I was asked to make for two young Ladies getting married who love Steampunk. I have never made a steampunk wedding card so it was quite a challenge but I must say I love the finished card even if I do say so myself lol. My Husband loved it to and I always wait for his approval as he is a tell it like it is guy and if he doesn't like something he will tell me lol. I hope it inspires you to try something outside you're comfort zone to,you just never know where it will take you, happy crafting x

Friday, 18 September 2015

Well hello again my crafty friends,I am back again after a couple of weeks break from crafting due to a nasty flare up of my M.E,but I am feeling much more human again I am glad to say. I have spent the last two days in my craft room making this months card for http://gruffiesandguests.blogspot.co.uk/halfway reminder for our challenge, anything goes/make it fruity.
I must say it was so nice to get back to doing what I love,I hate it when I am not up to crafting. I really enjoyed making this card to as it was two 1st's for me 1) my 1st ever rocker card and I am not even sure I did it the proper way but I did it my way," I feel a song coming on lol". and 2) It was my 1st time trying a bit of water colouring.
I started with cutting a large circle out of some grand circle die's I have and folding it in half, then I had a half circle set from cheery Lyn that I bought and thought I would never use but thought they would make a nice cutout on the bottom of the card so I cut them out of some green card a layered it over the top of the base white card. Then I used the same die to cut the outer circle in pink for the topper and layered that with a slightly smaller circle in green glitter card and then in water colour card. Then I painted the background scene to go with the image and layered on the image by decoupaging it. for the seeds in the water melon I used liquid pearls in black and the other seeds I had to cut out one by one and add them to the finish picture, but I think it was worth the effort as it bought the scene to life. I hope you like it and maybe you will try something you haven't done before to. Happy crafting :)
Our sponsers this month are http://www.disdigistamps.com/ with a prize of a £10 voucher for the winning card

Hello my friends,I hope it has not turned to cold for you all,it is a bit chilly here in Norfolk but then we get it off the North sea. I hope you are all well and finding time to do some crafting, although those of you with children may have found it difficult over the summer holidays. Hopefully you will be able to grab some you time now that they have gone back to school now though and can find time to create in whatever way you do.
It has been a busy few weeks for me with my Crafter's Companion design team makes and going up to Durham to celebrate with all at CC for the 10th birthday celebrations. It isn't their birthday until October but with everyone at CC having some busy times ahead we got the celebrations done while there was some time for it. I have to say that Sara Davies  is a truly inspirational Lady and brings out my crafting enthusiasm big time. I have so much enjoyed working on the Die'sire team and love these dies. The future from the peak I have had will have these die's and embossing folders rising to another level to,so watch this space. I certainly hope to have a long association with these products and I am sure that if and when you try them you will also look forward to each and every launch.
I make no apologies for my love of these products and I must say I am not one to be easily impressed and consider myself a very choosy crafter.
All that said, here are my DT samples which will launch in the 4 day deal on Monday with Leann  on Create and craft tv at 8am,1pm and 5pm and if they don't sell out in the 1st day again they will be on with Fiona on Tuesday and Wednesday.
